Devlog 09: Game Loop


Introduction

This week is the last week of production for our team so we are nearing the end now! All of the functions that we planned out are now in the game. This week we focused on the UI, player feedback and effects.

RFX 

This week we continued refining the effects of our potions. We made new effects for our Ice potion, Inverted controls potion and Heal potion.


We made another character effect for our fireball potion which gets attached to the player that casts the potion. We still want to rework the fireball potion itself next week. 


We also reworked the meteor potion effect that we made way back in prototype phase.


And last but not least we worked on an explosion effect that we play after the meteor hits the ground and when a player fails at crafting.

HUD & UI refine

We refined the logo and title screen and they are in the game now!
A "how to play" screen is shown for players when entering the game, we'll continue work on refining the details, pause, ending screen and decoration assets in the level.
